Below are three resources, a community report, technical report, and toolkit, generated by the Kelowna Homelessness Research Centre (KHRC) on Lived/Living Experience Circle on Homelessness.
Community Report
Rempel, K., Griffiths, S., Lloyd-Smith, J., Kelly, S., Hines, B., & Kirk, A. (2023) Community
This community-based research project was designed to support the Central Okanagan Journey Home Society (COJHS) and the Lived Experience Circle on Homelessness (LECoH) in identifying and evaluating the impact of LECoH from members own perspectives and the perspectives of service who have worked with LECoH on various projects and initiatives in Kelowna since the design process of the Journey Home Strategy in 2018.
2. Technical Report:
Rempel, K., Griffiths, S., Lloyd-Smith, J., Kelly, S., Hines, B., & Kirk, A. (2023) Technical Report: Research Process – Penticton LEC
This report was developed to support the work of communities, researchers and others who are interested in community engaged processes for making social change. The technical report is a companion piece to a Community Report and a Toolkit for creating community based Lived Experience Circles (LECs). The technical report focuses on the “how” of the work that was done. This includes a framework for integrating Lived Experience voices into the research (Allyship in Research Framework), the research approach from our project, and tools we used for data analysis.
3. Toolkit
Rempel, K., Griffiths, S., Lloyd-Smith, J., Kelly, S., Hines, B., & Kirk, A. (20 23) Toolkit for
This toolkit evolved from a community-based research project in the community of Penticton, BC. It was designed to support small cities and rural communities interested in creating advisory groups of people with lived or living experience (PWLLE) of homelessness to provide input/context on community policy, program development, or evaluation.
