In November 2019, the University of Victoria launched the UVic Health Initiative (UHI) to implement a new health faculty that highlights UVic’s strengths in health education, training, and research. Funding for this position is being provided to support the Indigenous Wellness Engagement Group (I-WEG), a subcommittee of the Senate Committee on Academic Health Programming, an ad-hoc committee created to determine the structure of a new health-related faculty at UVic. The Indigenous Wellness Engagement Group (I-WEG) will advise the Senate Committee on Academic Health Programming on a distinctions-based approach to health education and training at UVic.
Position:
They are seeking a graduate student research assistant to join the BC Indigenous Health Nursing Research (IHNR) team. The research assistant will work primarily to support the initiatives of the I-WEG subcommittee and the co-chairs Lisa Bourque Bearskin (BC Chair, IHNR, and Margaret Charlie, Director, Culture, Protocol and Community Relations, UVic) and Dr. Bourque Bearskin’s work with the Senate Committee on Academic Health Programming.
