Gateways: International Journal of Community Research and Engagement is calling for papers for its' upcoming issue "Opening Gateways: Writing research differently (or, ‘Is this going to be just another academic paper?’)".
The questions at the heart of this themed volume, indeed its cri de coeur, are thus twofold:
What social practices – including writing – are needed to communicate community-based research and practice in a peer-reviewed journal that would avoid undermining the very thing we are trying to share: that is, radical co-presence?
By what semiotic forms would we (authors, editors, reviewers and readers) recognise as legitimate, relevant and reusable such a re-imagined research article?
Contributors interested in participating in this special volume are encouraged to submit a short proposal (300–500 words) by 15 January 2024.
