Janna Martin is a researcher at Centre for Community Based Research and the Secretariat Support for CBRC. Before coming to CCBR, she was working at a non-profit organization as the social enterprise assistant. Janna has experience doing program monitoring and evaluation for poverty reduction and refugee resettlement programs. Her academic background is in Sociology and Peace and Conflict Studies. Janna’s research topics of interest include settler-colonialism, capitalism, civil society-led change, and the importance of community inclusion for vulnerable populations. A fun fact about Janna is that she spent one year volunteering in Papua, Indonesia at a grassroots women’s empowerment organization and living with an Indigenous Papuan family.
