As Director of CCP Isabelle leads the continued development and implementation of programs and supports designed to expand community-engaged learning (CEL) and research opportunities at U of T. Isabelle works with non-profit and public sector organizations within the Greater Toronto Area and beyond, in partnership with other units at U of T. She comes to the role with 18 years’ experience in public engagement and international cooperation in Canada, China, Peru, and Afghanistan in the health, education, and arts sectors. Isabelle’s community-based research includes video- and music-making projects with youth from under-represented communities. She is co-Principal Investigator of a community-university collaborative research project assessing the benefits and costs of CEL courses from the perspectives of the students, faculty and staff from community partner organizations involved. Isabelle holds a PhD from OISE, where she has been teaching graduate-level courses in research methods and cooperative learning since 2009.
