Equitable, just, and sustainable communities advanced by community research.

We respectfully acknowledge that the Community-Based Research Canada (CBRCanada) Secretariat is located on unceded land promised to the Six Nations of the Grand River in the Haldimand Treaty in 1784, and on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabe and the Haudenosaunee peoples. CBRCanada stands with First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities and is committed to embracing Indigenous knowledge systems and Indigenous-led research to advance justice and reconciliation.

Our Mission

Facilitating Connections

CBRCanada connects individuals, communities and organizations locally, regionally, nationally, and globally through a monthly Community of Practice and C2UExpo community-campus conferences.

Bridging Capacities

CBRCanada develops and shares resources to foster community-based research excellence at individual, community, and institutional levels. We offer monthly webinars, a Certificate Course and training workshops.

Mobilizing Knowledge

CBRCanada is a communications and knowledge sharing hub for community-based research with featured resources, news, events, e-newsletter and a Cross-Canada members map.

Championing Community-Based Research

CBRCanada works as a network to collectively advance policy and practices in support of community-driven research and recognizes excellence with Annual Community-Based Research Excellence Awards.
